The NPD Program Manager leads the multifunctional team to execute the assigned programs and to achieve the product requirements on budget, on schedule and in compliance with the Product Specification.
Responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities
Demonstrating accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives.
- Developing an integrated program plan across all functions with milestones, deliverables, resources, required funding to carry out the development and keeping it updated
- Leading the multifunctional team carrying out the program, including but not limited to Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, other GE entities, Suppliers, etc.
- Achieving the execution of program activities on time,
within budget and maintaining product cost within target.
- Ensuring that the NPD tollgate process is followed as required by applicable business practices, standards and instructions and identify/mitigate, all program issues and risks with documented abatement and action plans
- Providing interim metrics/reports on program status including financial risks & opportunities and ensure proper archiving of program schedule/cost documentation (PMI, Program management interface).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
- At least 5 additional years of experience in an engineering role
- Strong technical leadership experience
- Background in gas turbines NPD
- Prior experience with a focus on managing technical programs and designing and developing new products, preferably gas turbines
- Strong coaching expertise and success in working across the business functions, other GE businesses, and the global teams
- Solid business acumen and customer mindset

- Prior experience with New Product Development (NPD) process, Lean Principles, and management methodologies
- Ability to identify a goal or objective and develop plans and strategies
- Strong ability to multi-task
- Project management skills and experience
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills both in English and Italian
- Strong positive attitude about performance and teamwork
