Position Purpose- IM&H; Medical Lead will report to the Country medical director and she/he will be an integral member of the Medical Leadership Team Italy and the Country Medical Council (CMC)- IM&H; Medical Lead in Italy accountable for all Medical Plans and deliverables in Italy and ensures that these plans are represented in the Global Medical Plans.- Partners with the IM&H; Commercial Organization and is the single point of contact & accountability to ensure medical alignment on key strategies, deliverables, & communication in the Country.- Serves as the Country IM&H; medical champion,



including effectively and scientifically solid communication with key internal & external stakeholders- Represents Pfizer IM&H; in key Country/regional forums and meetings.- Primary point of contact for scientific questions with regulatory authorities in the Country- Advance scientific leadership and expand advocacy of IM&H; products within the medical community- Embrace patient centricity: Learn about patients’ key unmet needs; Partner with patients to build local and global advocacy; Address patients’ educational needs- Key point of accountability for all inquiries regarding clinical trials, Non Interventional Studies, RWE and communication regarding the Country medical aspects, such as: regulatory submissions, IM&H; products safety aspects (PSUR, SAE reports), the local medical planned local review, medical support for the development of promotional documents and validation, development of training materials and objection handlers, medical support of advisory boards, support of local, regional and European congresses and symposia, medical support of publications, medical support of Pfizer’s IM&H; portfolio in cooperation with the Global Medical Affairs- Manages a local medical team of Medical Affairs Scientists for IM&H;
Primary Duties:
- She/he is accountable for delivery of the Medical and Strategy for the IM&H;,



including all knowledge generating activities in the Country.- She/he will collaborate directly with cross functional teams to understand unmet medical needs and the medical environment including HCP and patient perspectives, regulatory and market access dynamics at the country level and integrate needs, insights and provide input into Commercial Office.Required Experience, Training, & Education:
- MD required- Extensive experience and proven leadership in Medical Affairs required- At least 5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience are required, some cross-functional experience is a plus.- Proven track record of ability to work successfully with cross-functional colleagues in a matrix team and with senior leaders and diverse colleagues- Subject matter expertise and experience in several Pfizer TAs and Pfizer medicines and pipeline assets required- Solid post graduate medical experience in internal medicine/ allied specialties or anti-infective is preferred- Ability to analyze, define and convey complex concepts and strategies and to communicate these to external and internal customers;- Manage non-traditional customers and be able to be proactively externally focused- Excellent strategic skills including creativity and effectiveness in identifying and addressing major strategic challenges together with the ability to balance short-term needs and long-term vision- Ability to manage a team- Compliance mindset and adherence to high standards: Ensure that compliance aspects and relevant laws/regulations in the pharmaceutical industry are met- Demonstrated ability to create and articulate strategies at Country level.- Full fluency in Italian and English
Preferred Experience, Training, & Education:
- Knowledge of the commercial and environmental aspects of the IM&H; business.- Experienced in managing projects to completion.- Demonstrated ability in the design, initiation, and reporting of clinical studies as part of an integrated clinical plan.- Able to discuss scientific aspects of IM&H; product development regulatory issues and to advise commercial partners and cross-functional teams on lyfe-cycle aspects.- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including scientific writing skills and strong interpersonal skills.- Proven ability to influence and succeed through others and to form excellent relationships with key cross-functional stakeholders.- Demonstrated strong work ethic,



and proven track record of delivering high quality within timelines.- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and align with wide range of stakeholders, regionally and cross-functionally.- Cross-functional leadership/management experience will be a distinctive advantage.
