**About this position**




The Laudato Si’ Animators and Circles Coordinator is expected to motivate the network of Laudato Si’ Animators and Circles in Italy to inspire the Italian Catholic community to actively care for Creation. He/she is expected to promote climate and social justice to support movement-building work in Italy. The coordinator will lead the coordination, strengthening, and implementation of the core LSM program, the Laudato Si’ Animators (LSAs) training in Italy realized in partnership with a wider cohort of Italian Catholic organizations and partners. He/she will accompany the network of LS Animators, equipping and empowering them in building relationships and “walking” in synodality in their communities. This training and mentorship program empowers grassroots Catholics to become leaders in their parishes, communities, associations, movements, and other levels, mobilizing for eco-spirituality, eco-action, and eco-advocacy. The coordinator will also coordinate the existing network of Laudato Si’ Circles in Italy facilitating the equipment and empowerment of a decentralized network and promoting the creation of new Circles.



He/she will work within the Italian Team and in coordination with the global Movement Development team. Until the end of the year, He/She will be assisted by the existing Coordinator.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead the coordination of the Laudato Si’ Animators (LSAs) program - the core LSM program realized in Italy in partnership with a wider cohort of Italian Catholic organizations and partners, - to grow and strengthen the movement building in Italy.
- Plan, promote and implement the LSAs training online (maybe in presence) accompanying participants during the online training to support the successful completion of the program and their progression to the next steps in their journey as Animators.
- Accompany and support LS Circle Facilitators, Animators of Animators, and Advanced Animators (Eco-Spirituality Group) equipping and empowering them to be LSM ambassadors in order to build a decentralized movement in partnership with Organization Members and Dioceses (Animators of Animators training,



Periodical meetings with LS Circle Facilitators and Advanced animators; Database management, WhatsApp Groups, 1:1 relationship, etc.)
- Share the local events and initiatives promoted by the network of Animators and Circles on social media (mainly Italian Facebook Page), during the monthly meetings of Animators open to everybody interested to inspire and mobilize.
- Prepare communication tools of different kinds (presentations, documents, reports, articles, blog posts, videos, graphics, simple flyers etc.), being able to manage simple graphic tasks.
- Working in a team with other colleagues who coordinate Member Organizations and Partners, such as the Italian Bishops’ Conference/ National Office for Social Problems and Work, to better contribute to bringing this partnership model in building the movement to the local level, in the style of LSAs and Circles that should be connectors in the territories for the care of our common home.




- Maintain updated databases of LS Animators and Circles, and other internal databases, monitoring databases of local events during global initiatives of LSM.
- Monitor and analyze data about the network of LS Animators and Circles and of activation with local events during global initiatives of the LSM, providing updated data when needed.
- Participate in the Global Movement Development team.
**Skills and Characteristics**
Essential
- Previous work or volunteer experience as an animator/educator in a Catholic Organization, preferably a Member Organization or Partner of LSM
- Ability to work in a team and to bring on assigned tasks with autonomy, referring to the line manager
- Planning and strategizing ability
- Organizational, networking, and community-building skills
- Time management ability (setting and respecting deadlines)
- Flexibility and disposal to work sometimes during weekends or during non-working hours if necessary




- Communication skills
- Knowledge of social media channels
- Knowledge of Excel
- Familiarity with Catholic Social Teaching
Desirable
- Previous experience in networking and community building
