English Coordinator at Highlands Institute Rome, Italy

Highlands Institute, an Apple Distinguished and Cambridge International School in Rome, seeks a dedicated ESL English Teacher with fluent English to cover a full-time (24 hours per week) substitution in our Primary School Sector to begin immediately. This role involves delivering high-quality English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction to students in a structured, immersive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Teach engaging ESL lessons aligned with the Cambridge Primary curriculum and foster a communicative and interactive learning environment.
2. Support language acquisition through phonics,



reading comprehension, writing, and speaking activities tailored to ESL learners.
3. Prepare students for their Cambridge English exam (Pre A1 Starters).

Qualifications:

1. High-level fluency in English with excellent pronunciation and communication skills.
2. Experience teaching ESL to young learners or middle school students in an international or bilingual school setting.
3. Familiarity with the Cambridge Pathway and ESL assessment frameworks (preferred).
4. CELTA, TEFL, TESOL, or equivalent ESL teaching certification.
5. Classroom management skills and the ability to engage students in an interactive, immersive learning experience.
6. EU work authorization or a valid Italian work permit required.
