About this position





We are looking for a talented Social Media Lead and Communications Coordinator to administer our social media accounts and provide support to the global communications team. We expect this person to be up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends, have excellent communication skills, and be able to express our LSM work creatively. This role will work with our different regional teams and coordinate communications globally.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy, Planning, and Evaluation

- Develop a social media strategy in collaboration with the director of communications to drive LSM’s existing audience to take action and reach new audiences.
- Develop a monthly social media calendar based on the social media strategy and the overall monthly content calendar.
- Filter ongoing requests for social media posts from program teams and decide which to move forward based on the content calendar and comms request guidelines.
- Test messages, posting times, and other factors to improve performance.
- Prepare social media data reports and follow up on metrics when requested.

Social Media Execution
- Create and post all content on all social media channels in all languages.




- Ensure that content aligns with messages reflected in comms plans, briefs, and activity summaries.
- Serve as a community manager for all channels.

Communications Coordination
- Design and send emails.
- Support webinars.
- Complete other implementation tasks as needed, in collaboration with the manager and director of communications.

Regional Support
- Create regional content for WhatsApp.
- Propose content for monthly emails to chapters.
- Coordinate with/support regional teams’ social channels as needed.

Skills and Characteristics

- Studies in Communication, Marketing, Digital Marketing, or any related field.
- 1 to 2 years of similar experience, preferably in nonprofits or Catholic organizations.
- Experience managing social media and email marketing.
- Knowledge of marketing strategies and techniques.
- Proficient in MS Office, web analytics, and various social media applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.




- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Endorses and embodies LSM values and the Laudato Si’ paradigm; comfortable supporting and working in a faith-based environment.

Languages: English and Spanish; other languages like French, Italian, Portuguese, or Polish are desirable.

Hours: 40 hours per week, full-time position.

Location: Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Colombia, Argentina, or any other country in Latam.

Work Environment: This position will work remotely.
