Pfizer is hiring a Talented Medical Director to lead Medical Affairs for Vaccines Therapeutical Area in Italy.
Role Description
- Vaccines Medical Lead is accountable for all Medical Plans and deliverables for Vaccines in Italy and ensures that these plans are represented in the Global Medical Plans.
- Champions all medical resources in the Country.
- Partners with the Vaccines Commercial Organization and is the single point of contact & accountability to ensure medical alignment on key strategies, deliverables, & communication in the Country.
- Serves as the Country vaccines medical champion,
including effectively and scientifically solid communication with key internal & external stakeholders to ensure broad vaccine recommendations.
- Represents Pfizer Vaccines in key Country/regional forums and meetings.
- Primary point of contact for scientific questions with regulatory authorities in the Country.
- Primary point of contact for country immunization committees and Ministry of Health.
- Key point of accountability for all inquiries and communication regarding the Country medical aspects, such as regulatory submissions, vaccine safety aspects (PSUR, SAE reports), the local medical plan, IIR coordination and local review, medical support for the development of promotional documents and validation, development of stand-by statements, training materials, and objection handlers, medical support of advisory boards, support of local, regional and European congresses and symposia, medical support of publications, local competitive intelligence and competitive readiness, medical support of Pfizer’s vaccines portfolio in cooperation with the Global Medical Affairs
- Accountable for delivery of the Medical and Strategy for the Vaccines, including all knowledge generating activities in the Country.
- Key point of contact for National and Regional Institutional Stakeholders related to the Immunization Plan (National and Regional Prevention Departments, NITAG, Vaccine Technical Committees, etc)
- Leads a local team of Medical Affairs Scientists.
**Qualifications**:
- Medical Doctor Degree.
- Solid post graduate medical experience with experience in clinical medicine, Mycrobiology, Public Health or such as paediatrics/internal medicine/Infectious iseases or other allied specialties.
- At least 2 years of experience in vaccine-related medical/scientific activities including research, clinical development, epidemiological, and immunization programs in the industry.
- Proven experience leading a medical team.
- Knowledge of immunization programs in the Country and an established network of KOLs within the vaccine field and relationships with established academic institutions.
- Knowledge of the commercial and environmental aspects of the vaccines business.
- Proven ability to interact with KOLs and Government Officials dealing with immunization programs/vaccine policy and vaccine recommendations at the highest level in the Country.
- Cross-functional leadership/management experience will be a distinctive advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to create and articulate strategies at Country level.
- Demonstrated ability in the design, initiation, and reporting of clinical studies as part of an integrated clinical plan.
- Fluent in English and Italian.
