Business Unit ManagerWe are looking for a** Business Unit Manager for Critical Infrastructure Italy, ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions**. In this role you will oversee business operations and provide strategic leadership. Responsibilities include for instance managing and advancing strategic objectives, implementing company policies, and driving organizational success. This is an exciting and challenging job opportunity for a passionate, inspiring and forward-thinking leader. The role will preferably be located in Rome area.
**What you would do as Business Unit Manager**
- Assume P&L; responsibility for the business unit
- Overall management and business development of the Critical Infrastructure business in Italy
- Prepare an annual business plan, and monitor and report regularly progress against this plan to ensure that the company meets its objectives
- Manage the development of objectives and strategic plans to achieve business opportunities, revenue growth, and increased financial profitability
- Lead the development of activities to build on the company’s strengths, identify business opportunities, increase share of market, obtain a more competitive position and expand business in Critical Infrastructure
- Coordinate strategies of pricing, marketing, advertising, and profitability of specific products for the market
- Promote the company’s products, services, and solutions to drive sales growth
- Realize strategic objectives, budgets and overall result, and develop plans to achieve revenue growth and increased financial profitability
- Extend and develop the cooperation and relationship with the customers and local / regional key accounts
- Provide accurate order forecasts for production planning
- Perform win/loss analysis and implement new strategies, where necessary
- Represent the company in negotiations with customers, suppliers, government departments and others
- Proactively gather business intelligence and information regarding potential competitors, contracts, etc. and inform management about major happenings and relevant trends
- Maintain memberships in relevant trade associations and other relevant groups, attend meetings for networking and exhibiting relevant products and systems, and follow up to achieve sales
- Ensure that prospects and customers are kept informed and educated about the latest solutions, products, and services provided by the company
- Coordinate with Production, Customer Support, Technical Support, R&D;, and other departments to ensure that all service and technical issues are resolved in an accelerated manner
- Working globally with other Critical Infrastructure units to enable rollout of company's products and services
- Ensure that all business activities are conducted in full compliance with company’s standards and agreements in sales and service, and with the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
- Responsible for the performance management of employees to ensure that the highest levels of service are delivered to customers at all times.
- Ensure that business risks are identified at an early stage to ensure these are minimized.
- Reporting line to Managing Director South Europe
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities you need in this role**
- At least Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Management, Economics or related
- A proven track record of sales and business development within the Professional End User market and System Integrator/Access Control market, with ideally a minimum of 10 years' experience
- Prior general management experience or business leadership managing P&L; accountability with proven financial background
- Successful experience of managing organizational development and change management
- Previous experience of Critical Infrastructure Verticals is desirable
- Comprehensive understanding of value-sales process,
to build up successful business cases, and ability to translate user information into a compelling investment decision, leading to closing of orders
- Experience of customer relationship management
- Ability to develop and implement commercial strategies, meeting company goals and objectives
- Excellent communication and negotiating skills delivered with diplomatic and firm convictions
- Self-motivated, and with the ability to plan and organize a demanding workload efficiently and effectively
- A commitment to adhere to the highest ethics and comply fully with ASSA ABLOY’s Code of Conduct.
- Competent with MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of SalesForce CRM and ERP systems is desirable
- Fluent in English with desired proficiency level being able to communicate with different Group stakeholders and Italian, both written and spoken
- Frequent travel at times in this role is required
