We are now looking for a Supplier Development Engineer to join our team of Supplier Development Engineers in Parts and Field Service, working for a better future. The position is permanent. The preferred location is Trieste (Italy), but Vaasa (Finland), Kampen (Netherlands) and any main Wärtsilä location within Europe can be considered as well. What you will be doing In this position, your work will include identifying, developing, and executing Supplier Development actions for the category team's scope of supply, specifically for Category 09: Fuel Injection Equipment. On a typical day, you might start with monitoring and analysing supplier performance and end the day with executing an action plan for supplier improvements. You will not be working on this alone, as you will have the support from Supplier Development teammates and the Category team (Strategic Purchaser and Category Manager). Responsibilities Monitor and analyse supplier performance and give guidance accordingly. Take ownership and action on Quality, Delivery, and Cost activities.
Support suppliers with their operational efficiency/product improvement and development initiatives. Assess and follow up the suppliers' quality management systems and Supplier Management System (VMS) rating. Act as the point of contact for suppliers with quality, delivery, or technical problems. To be successful in this role we expect you to have: Understanding of Supply Management and Quality principles. Project management knowledge. Experience in SAP and reporting tools (PowerBI). Value Stream Mapping mindset. In this role, some travel is required to meet with our suppliers around Europe. Thus, we hope you are ready to travel approximately 40%. Why you and us?
