Study of octopus predatory activity towards blue crab: Degree of preference towards blue crab; Food preference with respect to size and sex of blue crabs; Consumption: food conversion ratio (FCR), specific growth rate (SGR) and absolute growth rate (AGR); Identification of maximum size of blue crab caught as a function of octopus size; Reproduction programme for obtaining paralarvae: Eco-physiological conditioning and feeding regime to encourage gonadal maturation and spontaneous mating of octopuses; Transfer of the females to the delivery room for egg cluster deposition, hatching and collection of the paralarvae; Feeding of paralarvae; Programme for releasing paralarvae into the sea for biological control of blue crab.
