PRIN 2022 - 202255LYCP Deadline for Applications: 04.02.2025 at 12:00 PM (noon) Description of the Research Activity: Investigation of a new integrated approach for biomass gasification, a polygeneration-oriented production of heat, power (through the integration with a Stirling engine), and biochar. Biomass gasifier stand-alone testing under different process conditions to identify, with the support of simulation tools, the best working point for integration with the Stirling engine and optimal biochar production. Integration of biomass gasifier and CHP unit to identify the optimal location for the CHP unit on the gasification plant and to design a proper mounting seat. Testing the performance of the integrated system in terms of biochar yield and thermal and electrical efficiencies, and assessment of the proposed technological solution's potential.
