Organisation / Company: Università degli Studi di Torino Research Field: Physics Researcher Profile: Recognised Researcher (R2), Leading Researcher (R4), First Stage Researcher (R1), Established Researcher (R3) Country: Italy Application Deadline: 27 Jan 2025 - 13:00 (UTC) Type of Contract: To be defined Job Status: Not Applicable Is the job funded through the EU Research Framework Programme? Not funded by a EU programme Is the Job related to staff position within a Research Infrastructure? No Offer Description: In high-energy heavy-ion collisions at CERN, up to 10,000 particles are produced, including light (anti)nuclei. Using advanced particle-identification detectors, ALICE has measured nuclear states with A.
The project aims to measure yield fluctuations of light (anti)nuclei using 2023/24 data with unprecedented luminosity, allowing precise measurements of rare states like anti-3 He. Studying the Pearson correlation between anti-3He and antiproton counts will refine coalescence modeling, offering tighter constraints on (anti)nuclei formation and nucleon emission processes in collisions.
