RINA is currently recruiting for a

SHM and BIM Specialist

to join its office in Rome or Naples, Italy within the Italy Infrastructure & Mobility Division. Mission The ideal candidate will be involved in technical activities for international bridges structural health monitoring projects.



Key Accountabilities Development of preliminary and detailed design activities for structural monitoring systems mainly focused on civil infrastructures (bridges, viaducts, dams and buildings); On-site works supervision for installation of structural monitoring system; Coordination and control of technical activities provided by suppliers together with the structural monitoring system; Management and coordination of all technical aspects with end customers and construction partners; Management of the interfaces between the structural monitoring system and the other systems; Support to the tender teams for all aspects related to the structural monitoring system; Data analysis and reporting; Factory/site installation and testing activities related to the structural monitoring system; Development of systems for the processing and analysis of different types of SHM data for the detection, localization and quantification of structural damage using Machine Learning techniques; Development of BIM-based platforms for monitoring data visualization. Education Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or in Electronic/TLC Engineering or Aerospace Engineering. Qualifications Experience of at least three years relating to the development of a preliminary and detailed project for structural monitoring system; Knowledge of traditional sensors (accelerometers, inclinometers, strain gauges) and fiber optics technology in the measurement sector; On-site manager activities; Good knowledge of the English language; Available for worldwide mission; Good knowledge of CAD software (Autocad); Good knowledge of accounting programs (Primus or Bluematica); Basic knowledge of data analysis software (Matlab, Labview, Octave, Python,



Artemis Modal Pro) will be considered an advantage; Good knowledge of MS Project or Primavera. Additional preferred requirements BIM Specialist certificate, particularly in the MEP field (for junior profile at least 2 years of experience in the role); BIM Coordinator or BIM Manager certification (at least 3 years of experience in the role); Knowledge of Autodesk Applications, in particular Autocad, Revit, Naviswork. Possibly Rhinoceros; Ability to set up correct workflows on Autodesk construction cloud or similar Project Wise.
